Hollow grind. This knife has a beautiful curvy spine with the point rising slightly. I have adjusted the handle angle a few degrees up to accommodate the grip for a more "knifey" feel and a less machete feel. The handle material took a very smooth and reflective shine upon buffing. Even though this is a pretty knife - it would serve the owner well in every day tasks.
